Have a bite to eat
I've been to the municipal market, bought a nice fat polvo (octopus). I've gone to the farmers' market on Saturday morning for a selection of fresh produce and chopped it up and drenched it in loads of olive oil for a tasty and healthy veggie bake. I'll simmer the octopus for about 90 minutes. Meanwhile, I will cook up some potatoes, always good with polvo. Peter is here, thank goodness. He's a much better cook than me and will help out in the kitchen. And for a true Portuguese flavour, let's rope Rita into the cooking. Then dig in and enjoy. When the food is good and the company even better, lunch in Portugal can take all afternoon. And when you're all done, there'll be a glass or two of wine left over and a big dish of veggies for tomorrow's lunch.
