Rice and fish, and other good stuff
I get lovely fresh fish from the local mercado, though I must admit I do sometimes buy frozen seafood from the ugly supermarket. I get delicious, locally grown vegetables for next to no money at the Saturday morning farmers' market. I get a week's supply for between 5 and 10 euros. The fruit comes from my landlady; she grows all sorts and leaves a few for me outside my door. That octopus cost me 8 euros and I ended up burning it. And the squash I pinched, late at night, from a farmer's field because, as readers know, I am The Vegetable Bandit of Aljezur.
